Old Becomes New, Taste Tradition.

Jeff & Terri

Terri and Jeff are extremely proud (and relieved) to have opened doors in 2016.  This has been a five year journey filled with joys and tears, celebrations and frustrations, and meeting some amazing individuals along the way that will most likely become life-long friends.

This wonderful adventure started very innocently in October of 2012 while on vacation in Portland, Maine we stumbled upon the words “Lavender Lemonade Mead” at the bottom of a café chalkboard. After a taste, a tour of the nearby Maine Mead Works and talking to Ben and Nick, we knew we found something very special.  Embarking upon a homebrewing quest for knowledge and perfection that eventually led us to making a mead so good it won Grand Champion at the prestigious Texas Mead Cup annual competition (of course, it is our oh-so-good Thai-Grr).

Finally, on September 10, 2016, after almost two years of painstaking repairing and rehabilitation of an industrial building that for decades was used by a roofing company, we opened doors to the public.  A historic date marking Delaware’s first Meadery & Cidery.  According to local brewing historian, John Medkeff, it’s been approximately 130 years since mead was professionally produced in the state of Delaware (pre-prohibition).

We invite you to visit our tasting room and production facility located at 28 Brookside Drive, in southwest Wilmington – only 2.5 miles off I-95 and just off Maryland Avenue.  Experience locally sourced, whole fruit and spice, gluten free drinks that contain no artificial flavors or colors and source from the best quality resources we can find.  Come taste a special historic drink with a modern twist.  You will not “bee” disappointed!

On February 18 2018  both Jeffrey and Terri became only a handful of Certified Cider Professionals  in this area of the United States.   This designation from the USACM is only awarded to cider makers who pass an extensive examination.    Liquid Alchemy Ciderworks was also awarded in 2018 by the US Open Cider Competition and GLINTCAP Competitions and recieved 4 medals for 3 of their flavors.
